Readypower Rail Services is looking for a NPORS Instructor / NVQ Assessor.

This is a part-time (27 hours per week), permanent opportunity, based primarily from our Nottingham Depot. The role requires travel nationally to customer and operational sites.

The ideal candidate will deliver NPORS accredited and compliant training, testing and NVQ assessments to Readypower employees and external customers.

The Role

  • Develop an understanding of Network Rail competence management requirements and undertake any necessary training to support the business
  • Ensure training and assessment are done in line with approved protocols, guidelines or prescribed course materials
  • Liaise with trainees and check training / assessment timings are planned
  • Follow training plans and instructions from the Training Delivery Manager and Head of Training
  • Complete paperwork and CPD records fully and correctly and in a timely manner for submission to Management upon request
  • Keep up to date with the latest training or assessment protocols, standards and course materials
  • Attend standardisations meetings to keep up to date with standards and company processes
  • Be familiar with NPORS and Awarding Organisation competence standards

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (or equivalent)
  • Current NPORS Registered Instructor status
  • Qualified and competent NVQ Assessor with experience assessing vocational competence within the construction industry
  • Proven experience delivering plant operator training and assessments
  • Evidence of maintaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records
  • Good IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate training, assessment and certification records
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Requirements

  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
  • Experience delivering commercial NPORS training courses
  • Knowledge of CPCS and other plant competency schemes
  • Experience working within an Approved Training Centre
  • Experience of audits with awarding organisations
  • Willing to work towards other NPORS Instructor Categories

The successful candidate must be competent and authorised to deliver training and assessment in the following NPORS categories:

  • Tracked Excavator (Above 10 Tonnes)
  • Wheeled Excavator (Above 10 Tonnes)
  • Excavator as a Crane
  • Slinger / Signaller
  • Plant Machinery Marshal
  • Excavation Marshal (Banksman)
  • Plant Mover
  • Telehandler
  • Telehandler – Suspended Loads
  • Forward Tipping Dumper
  • Rear Tipping Dumper
  • Ride-on Road Roller
