Support Manager
Acute Division of Surgery
Band 6 | 18 Hours per Week
Fixed Term for 2 Years
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic, and highly organised Support Manager to join the Acute Division of Surgery. This part-time job-share position offers the chance to play a key role in supporting the operational and strategic delivery of a range of surgical services while contributing to improvements in patient access and waiting times.
Working Wednesday to Friday, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative management team, helping to ensure high-quality services are delivered effectively while supporting the achievement of local and national performance standards.
About The Role
As Support Manager, you will work closely with Unit Operational Managers, Service Managers, Clinical Leads, Unit Nurse Managers, the Access Team, and fellow Support Managers to provide both operational and administrative support across surgical services.
- Supporting the delivery of national waiting times standards and patient access targets.
- Assisting with service planning, performance monitoring, and operational management.
- Working collaboratively with clinical and managerial colleagues to identify and implement service improvements.
- Supporting the coordination of patient pathways to ensure timely access to care.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and service redesign projects.
- Leading the management of patient complaints and concerns, liaising with relevant staff and services to ensure thorough investigation, appropriate resolution, and compliance with NHS Grampian guidelines and timescales.

About You
The successful candidate will have experience within an NHS operational, service management, or healthcare environment, in-depth knowledge of waiting times management and targets, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
