Nuclear Medicine Technologist Opportunity
The Nuclear Medicine department at Barts Health NHS Trust, one of the country's largest NHS Trusts, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team.
About the Department
Our service spans three sites - St Bartholomew's Hospital, Royal London Hospital, and Whipps Cross University Hospital - and comprises:
- 4 SPECT-CT systems
- 1 Gamma Camera
- A state-of-the-art GE Discovery PET-CT
We also run:
- A major GFR service for the oncology department
- A therapy service
- A large in-house Radiopharmacy department
There are plans to add a second PET-CT system and expand our radionuclide therapy service. We also operate a highly active Rubidium cardiac service, one of the busiest in the country.
Job Details
This is a 1-year fixed-term post at 0.58 WTE (21 hours 45 minutes per week), working Wednesday to Friday, with shifts between 08:00 and 20:00 according to service needs.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for these positions, you will need:
- At least 1 year NHS experience.
- Eligible or undergoing Pg Dip in Nuclear Medicine or BSc Radiography or DCR or equivalent qualification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or PG Dip in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to develop own skills and provide information to others to help their development.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workload.
- Demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to rotate across 3 different Hospitals within the Trust.
Candidate is expected to rotate through various Nuclear medicine/PET CT within the trust that are located at various places in and around London.
There will be occasional opportunities to work on Saturday and Sunday on a rotational basis and this work is voluntary.
