We have UK Facilities/offices in Alloa, Elland, Bedford, East Kilbride & London. As well as employees-based UK wide within Customer sites.

An exciting new vacancy has arisen aligned to the continued growth of our Company for the role of:

ASSISTANT NUCLEAR NEW BUILD PROJECT MANAGER

ENGINEERING INDUSTRY

ALLOA

Requirements: Reporting to the Lead NNB Project Manager, the junior/assistant PM will provide dedicated management and support to specific Nuclear New Build sub-projects. Practical coaching, mentoring, on the job training, and formal examinations will develop the assistant / junior PM to promote and maintain the highest standards of project management best practice through good governance, planning, organisation, motivation, and organising resources to achieve project goals and deliverables. Act as the Single Point of Contact between the client and supply chain for allocated NNB sub-projects.

Objective:

  • Undertake coaching, mentoring, on the job training, and formal examinations to develop skills and experience with an aspiration to develop into a highly competent and professional Project Manager
  • Assume direct responsibility for specific NNB sub-projects as directed by the NNB Lead Project Manager
  • Work with the NNB project team on all aspects of the project to develop and understand how a project is managed and controlled
  • Responsible for the execution of the sub-projects allocated, including all elements of performance; Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost following Business Standards and Procedures
  • Promote and maintain a culture of professionalism, openness, honesty, commitment and continuous improvement at all levels of the sub Projects
  • Ensuring project milestones goals are met
  • Day-to-day management of the sub-project, organising and attending both internal and external meetings as required
  • Initiate, update, track, control and distribute (as required) technical queries, non-conformances, and deviations
  • Weekly / monthly reporting
  • Ensure that Project Documentation and design requirements are completed to the required standard
  • Actively support and promote the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and other policies and procedures
  • Must be willing the travel, with the occasional trip outside the UK

Measurement:

  • Continuous professional development through coaching, mentoring, on the job training
  • Participate in professional and vocational training, and pass examinations related to the training
  • Achievement of contract stage milestones and KPI's
  • Highest HSEQ Standards achieved throughout the project life cycle
  • Customer satisfaction levels are high throughout the lifetime of the Projects
  • Work with NNB Project Team to constantly report, analyse, and develop improvements within contract performance

Education:

  • An engineering related background (either practical or academic). Recognised engineering qualification (minimum HNC). Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, practical problem solving, analyse information and develop an effective action plan.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment is advantageous.
  • Willing to become fully conversant with company HSEQ procedures and management systems.
  • The role may require some regular travel both in the UK and potentially worldwide.
  • Prepared to work reasonable amounts of overtime as required by the Lead NNB Project Manager to match the operational demands of the projects.
