The Opportunity
This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,050 and the chance to work on site at one of our Heysham Power Stations.
You’ll be part of a team that plays a vital role in ensuring safe reactor operations and compliance with nuclear safety cases. You’ll get stuck into real-world challenges, supported by experts who’ll help you grow.
What You’ll Experience
During your Nuclear Safety Group Industrial Placement, you’ll support the daily operations of our Nuclear Safety Team. Past students have contributed to safety case reviews, supported compliance assessments, and worked on initiatives that ensure safe and reliable generation.
You’ll be immersed in the world of nuclear safety, learning from experts and applying your skills to meaningful challenges. This placement offers a rich learning experience and a chance to make a real impact in a critical area of the energy industry.

You’ll be based on site at one of the Heysham Power Stations, within the Nuclear Safety Group.
Who You Are
To be eligible for this scheme, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (maths, physics, engineering or other science/engineering disciplines).
It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility, we reserve the right in our decisions to give priority to those who already have the right to work in the UK.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
