Nuclear Safety Professionals | Relocate to Australia | Expression of Interest

Join one of the world's leading nuclear consultancies and help establish Australia's future naval nuclear capability through the AUKUS partnership.

Mott MacDonald is a vibrant and forward-thinking engineering, management and development consultancy. We employ more than 800 nuclear professionals globally, supporting clients across defence nuclear, civil nuclear, fusion, decommissioning, waste management and major infrastructure programmes.

As Australia develops a sovereign naval nuclear capability, we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced UK Nuclear Safety professionals interested in relocating to Australia and contributing to one of the most significant nuclear programmes in the world.

Working alongside specialists from Australia, the UK and across our global business, you will have the opportunity to shape the safety approaches, assurance frameworks and technical justifications that will underpin Australia's future nuclear enterprise.

Your Opportunity

Whether you are a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer, Senior Safety Case Engineer, Principal Safety Case Engineer or Technical Lead, this is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise to a nation-building programme while continuing to develop your career within a globally recognised nuclear business.

You will have opportunities to:

  • Develop and deliver complex nuclear safety cases and safety assessments.
  • Support safety substantiation, engineering justification and hazard management activities.
  • Contribute to regulatory engagement and licensing programmes.
  • Provide technical assurance across major defence and nuclear projects.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering, design and programme delivery teams.
  • Support the development of Australia's sovereign nuclear capability and future nuclear workforce.
  • Learn from and collaborate with leading nuclear specialists from across our global business.

Where Your Experience Could Make an Impact

Whether your background is in safety case development, safety assessment, engineering substantiation, nuclear assurance, regulatory support or hazard management, you'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to programmes helping establish Australia's future naval nuclear capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
