Nurse Associate - Physical Health Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Manchester Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service as a Nurse Associate within our Physical Health Team. This city-wide role supports service users across our three Manchester EIP teams, helping people experiencing a first episode of psychosis access timely physical health assessment, monitoring and interventions.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse Associate with experience of working with people experiencing mental health difficulties and a passion for delivering holistic, person-centred care.
Hours and Flexibility
This is a part-time role (22.5 hours per week) with a range of flexible working options available, including school hours, condensed hours and other patterns that support both service delivery and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Join a supportive and expanding service and benefit from a comprehensive induction programme, shadowing opportunities, regular supervision, and ongoing CPD and development opportunities.
- Work alongside our Physical Health Lead and multidisciplinary teams to play a key role in improving physical health outcomes for people accessing EIP services.
- Health Promotion & interventions:
- Physical health assessments in clients homes and in a clinic setting.
- Physical Health Improvement Tool.
- Support with High dose antipsychotic monitoring.
- Support with lithium monitoring.
- Support with Clozapine, Mood stabiliser and Depot clinics if required.
- Undertake Venepuncture as required within the PHIT Tool or directed by the senior nurse or medic.
- Undertake ECG as required within the PHIT Tool or directed by the senior nurse or medic.
- Supporting annual flu vaccination clinics if required.
- Support and promote physical health among the wider MDT.
- Offer ad hoc and repeat appointments including home visits to monitor changes in ECG and Blood results.
