Job Title: Nurse Educator
Location: Flexible Field Based - North England (Ideal location Manchester), with flexibility to support Nationally when needed
Duration: 12-month contract - This will be extended
Reports to: National Diabetes Sales Manager
Mission Statement
The Nurse Educator will play a critical role in delivering high-quality training and education to both healthcare professionals and people living with Diabetes. They must have a strong background in diabetes care, ideally experience as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, Diabetes Dietician, etc. The Nurse Educator will provide technical device training to support best practices in diabetes management. This role is dedicated to supporting our Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system, ensuring healthcare professionals and patients are confident in its use for effective diabetes management. They will approach patient care and professional education with strong empathy, ensuring understanding, confidence, and improved outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Education
- Deliver engaging and effective training to healthcare professionals and patients in one-on-one and group settings.
- Adapt training styles to suit a diverse audience, ensuring knowledge retention and application in both clinical practice and self-management.
- Utilise digital and remote training tools to support virtual education when necessary.
Patient Support & Empowerment
- Train patients and caregivers on the use of a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system and associated applications to enable effective diabetes management.
- Provide tailored training support to patients initiating this new technology, ensuring confidence in self-care.
- Approach patient education with strong empathy and understanding, ensuring individuals feel supported in managing their condition.
- Work closely with healthcare teams to improve patient adherence and outcomes through structured education programs and follow-up.
- Offer compassionate, patient-centred guidance to enhance diabetes control with the use of the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and overall well-being.

Clinical Expertise & Support
- Provide expert technical guidance and support on the use and management of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Be seen as a valued partner to the NHS with expert solution knowledge.
- Offer on-site and remote support for healthcare professionals and patients implementing the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).
- Assist in troubleshooting concerns related to the continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system and provide proactive hypercare to maximise retention.
Customer Relationship & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with patients, key stakeholders, including nurses, GPs, endocrinologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring customer and patient needs are met through high-quality education and support.
- Support commercial teams by providing clinical insights and expertise in customer discussions.
Operational Effectiveness & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Provide insights and feedback to enhance CRM processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor training effectiveness and gather feedback to continuously improve educational offerings.

Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Current or previously Registered Nurse (RN)
- Essential: Previous experience as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN) or equivalent. A specialist qualification or significant experience/interest in diabetes care.
- Experience in delivering training to both healthcare professionals and patients in group and individual settings.
- Strong understanding of diabetes management, including medication, monitoring, and lifestyle interventions.
- Familiarity with NHS structures and processes in both primary and secondary care.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and experience in maintaining customer interactions.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong empathy and ability to support patients with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Outstanding organisational skills.
- Ability to simplify complex clinical concepts for different audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle clinical inquiries effectively.
- Confident in the use of technology.
- Confident in using digital training platforms and remote learning tools.
- Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays when required.
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving license.
- Willingness to travel across all areas to cover training sessions.
- Potential out-of-hours support.
