Staffscanner is looking for an experienced and confident Nurse Manager to join our team on an interim basis to provide maternity cover.
This is a key clinical leadership and assurance role, responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical quality, professional practice and regulatory compliance across our nursing workforce.
Working from our Glasgow HQ, with visits to client sites as required, you will support our nurses to deliver safe, high-quality care while providing clinical assurance to our clients, regulators and internal teams.
We're looking for someone with strong professional credibility, sound clinical judgement and a practical, hands-on approach who is comfortable operating within a fast-paced and highly regulated healthcare environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As Nurse Manager, you will play an important role across clinical governance, professional support, workforce development and quality assurance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the organisation in meeting Care Inspectorate, NMC and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Maintaining and applying effective clinical governance frameworks, policies and controls
- Providing clinical input and evidence for regulatory inspections, audits and quality reviews
- Supporting safer recruitment processes for our nursing workforce
- Developing and maintaining clinical guidance in line with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards
- Providing professional clinical advice and guidance to nurses, clients and internal teams
- Facilitating structured clinical supervision and reflective practice
- Visiting client sites where required to provide clinical assurance and oversight
- Acting as a point of escalation for clinical practice, conduct and capability concerns
- Identifying clinical training and development needs
- Supporting nurses with competency assurance, professional development and revalidation requirements
- Supporting the management and investigation of clinical complaints, incidents and concerns
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement from quality and clinical data
- Working collaboratively with HR, operations, clients, nurses and other stakeholders to maintain high standards of care

What We're Looking For
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant post-registration nursing experience
- Experience of supervision, mentoring and/or clinical quality responsibilities
- A good working knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards and regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting clinical quality, risk management and/or complaints processes
- Confidence working collaboratively within HR-led processes and organisational structures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Sound clinical judgement with a strong focus on patient safety, quality and professional accountability

It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience within a healthcare workforce, staffing or multi-site service environment
- Experience contributing to regulatory inspections or reviews
- Training or qualifications in clinical education, supervision or governance
About You
You'll be a credible and approachable clinical professional who is comfortable balancing governance and compliance with practical day-to-day support.
You'll be confident coaching and supporting nurses, addressing clinical concerns appropriately and working collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
