Job Title

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Palliative Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner who demonstrates expertise in the clinical management of the child. The practitioner role is multi-faceted and includes clinical management, educational responsibilities, administrative duties, consulting, and initiating/implementing research.

The Palliative Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with the Palliative Care Team as well as other hospital medical, nursing, and support services to provide family centered care. They will provide consultation in Palliative Care, symptom management and supportive care in collaboration with the Palliative Care physician. The practitioner maintains active participation in his/her own continued education and professional development.

The Palliative Care program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital consists of a team of experts specially trained in pediatric palliative care. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for patients and their families and provide patients with relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness or complicated condition. Our team includes hospice and palliative medicine pediatricians, nurse practitioners, child life specialists, social workers and chaplains.

Qualifications

  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA) certification and licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Pediatric Acute Care Nursing (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.
  • Must have licensed APP experience in a pediatric Palliative Care and Pain Management environment required.
  • Active BLS and PALS required.

Salary Range

Minimum 51.03/hour - Maximum 79.10/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
