About The Role
The Nurse Practitioner/Prescriber must excel in comprehensive patient care, performing autonomous assessments, diagnoses, treatments, screenings, and prescribing medications. Offering personalised advice requires a friendly, compassionate, and proactive approach. Leveraging prior knowledge and skills, you'll care for a diverse patient base across all age groups. You'll receive support from GPs, experienced nurses, administration, and the Medical Centre Manager as part of our collaborative team.
This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours across Monday to Friday.
Do you have what we are looking for?
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NZNC) as a Nurse Practitioner or Prescriber and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Current CPR certificate.
- Previous experience in primary health care or a medical centre environment.
- Advanced clinical nursing skills, including smear taking, vaccination (Authorised Vaccinator certification), venesection, and IV line insertion.
- Demonstrated ability to practise at an advanced clinical level.
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to primary health care.
- Commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes across the practice population.
- Practice that aligns with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, whānau, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and stages of life.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
