Nurse Team Manager - Children's Ward

We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Manager - Children's ward who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and inspirational Children’s Nurse Team Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership within our expanding children’s services. This is an exciting time for the service, with two commissioned designated HDU spaces and an £11 million NHS England investment to build a new Children’s Ward. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading service transformation while ensuring children and young people receive safe, compassionate and high-quality care.

The post holder will provide visible leadership to the nursing and multidisciplinary team, with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ward, workforce, patient safety, safeguarding, clinical governance, quality improvement and patient experience. They will foster a positive, inclusive culture where children, young people and their families remain at the centre of all care.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of children's services, lead a dedicated team and make a lasting impact on the care and experience of children, young people and their families.

At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
