Registered Nurse – Adult Care Home

At Kara Healthcare, we're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team within one of our adult care homes in Darlington.
This is more than just a nursing role. You'll get to know our residents as individuals, understand what matters to them, and play an important part in supporting their health, wellbeing, dignity, and independence.
We're looking for someone who is confident in their nursing skills but, just as importantly, genuinely cares about the people they look after.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse, you'll provide professional nursing care while working closely with residents, families, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
Your role will include:
- Providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred nursing care.
- Getting to know residents and understanding their individual needs, preferences, and routines.
- Assessing, monitoring, and reviewing residents' health and wellbeing.
- Administering medication safely and in line with relevant procedures.
- Supporting residents with long-term conditions and changing health needs.
- Recognising changes in residents' health and taking appropriate action.
- Working closely with GPs, district nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate care plans and clinical records.
- Supporting residents with mobility, nutrition, hydration, and personal care where required.
- Providing support and guidance to care colleagues.
- Contributing to safeguarding and ensuring residents are protected from harm.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies and clinical situations.
- Communicating effectively with residents and their families.
- Supporting residents and families with compassion during difficult or sensitive situations.
- Ensuring dignity, privacy, choice, and independence are maintained at all times.
- Following clinical policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Contributing to audits, quality improvement, and maintaining high standards of care.
- Helping create a positive and supportive environment for residents and colleagues.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for a nurse who is professional, compassionate, and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You'll ideally have:
- A current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience working within adult social care, nursing homes, hospitals, or a similar healthcare setting.
- A good understanding of person-centred care.
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
- Confidence managing medication and clinical responsibilities.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety.
- The ability to recognise and respond to changes in residents' health.
- Good record-keeping and attention to detail.
- The ability to work well as part of a wider care team.
- A calm and professional approach when dealing with challenging or unexpected situations.
- A genuine interest in supporting older adults and people living with dementia or complex care needs.
