Nursery Apprenticeship

You will be working towards an Advanced Diploma in Early Years, with your apprenticeship lasting for 14 months. This role requires dedication, commitment, and punctuality.

Requirements

  • GCSEs in Maths & English (grade C/4 or above) or Functional Skills in Maths & English (grade Level 2).
  • Share relevant qualifications and industry experience, as the apprenticeship can be adjusted.
  • A laptop/PC will be essential for online classroom-based learning.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment for children aged 0-5.
  • Teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
  • Partaking in a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Supporting children with self-care needs, including feeding and personal hygiene.
  • Communicating with team members and parents.
  • Liaising with external customers and parents.
  • Providing a high level of service for the childcare setting.
  • Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
  • Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures the child learns whilst having fun.
  • Assisting in meeting Ofsted requirements.
  • Being a team player.
  • Providing challenging and stimulating activities for children appropriately.
  • Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery.
  • Supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Supporting children’s self-help needs.
  • Being creative and enthusiastic.
  • Following safeguarding rules and regulations.
  • Undertaking the role and responsibilities of a key person.
  • Recognising and applying theories of attachment.
  • Providing sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years.
  • Advocating for all children’s needs, including those with SEND or EAL support.
  • Promoting and facilitating children’s interpersonal communication.
  • Supporting children to develop a positive sense of identity and culture.
  • Supporting children to understand and respond to their emotions.
  • Assessing the responsiveness of the environment for effective child-centred experiences.
  • Creating inclusive, child-centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments.
  • Creating inclusive and supportive emotional environments.
  • Applying strategies that support children’s ability to manage change, transition, and significant events.
  • Analysing observation evidence to assess and plan individual learning.
  • Facilitating and supporting child-centred opportunities and experiences.
  • Providing adult-led opportunities and experiences.
  • Using reflection to develop professionally and personally.
  • Completing a qualification in paediatric first aid.
  • Updating an online portfolio in a timely manner.

Benefits

  • Salary: £12,480 for the first year, with potential increase based on age.
  • Training: Working towards an Early Years Educator (Level 3) qualification, Advanced Diploma in Early Years.
