Nursery Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young children during the most important stages of their development? Do you have experience working within an Early Years setting and would enjoy using your German language skills in a bilingual nursery environment?
At Ribbons & Reeves, we are working with a well-established bilingual nursery group across South East and East London to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a nurturing setting where children are encouraged to develop through play, creativity and exploration, with both English and German incorporated into daily learning. German language skills are highly desirable and will be a significant advantage in this role.
Job Specification
- Position: Full-time, permanent Nursery Assistant
- Salary: £26,000 per annum
- Location: Based across South East & East London
- Language Skills: German speaking preferred (fluency or conversational level welcomed)
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in a nursery, school or childcare setting is essential
- Qualifications: A relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3) is desirable
- Skills: Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for Early Years education

The Role
As a Nursery Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating and engaging environment where children can flourish. Working alongside experienced practitioners, you'll support children's learning, wellbeing and daily routines while helping deliver exciting play-based activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children aged 0-5 with their learning and development
- Encouraging communication in both English and German where appropriate
- Assisting with creative indoor and outdoor learning experiences
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Promoting children's confidence, independence and wellbeing
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate
The successful Nursery Assistant will be:
