Permanent Nursery Cleaner

Location: YMCA Childcare Providence, 2 Wellington Street, Ipswich IP1 2NU

Are you reliable, hardworking and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness? YMCA Trinity Group is looking for a Childcare Cleaner to join our childcare team and help provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, families and staff.

About The Role

As a Childcare Cleaner, you will play an important role in ensuring our childcare setting remains hygienic, safe and well maintained. Working under the direction of the Childcare Manager, you will be responsible for cleaning all areas of the nursery to a high standard and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the setting.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the childcare setting, including play areas, kitchen facilities, staff areas and washrooms.
  • Clean and sanitise all surfaces, flooring, furniture, fixtures and internal windows to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for children and staff.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely, adhering to Health & Safety, COSHH and policies and procedures.
  • Manage waste disposal, replenish consumable supplies and monitor cleaning stock levels, reporting shortages when required.

  • Has experience in cleaning or housekeeping (desirable but not essential).
  • Takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Is reliable, organised and able to work independently.
  • Has a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Understands the importance of health and safety in a childcare environment.

In line with safer recruitment processes, successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, facilitated and paid for by YMCA Trinity Group.

Days and Hours

You will be contracted to work 10 hours a week, Monday to Friday - Preferably 6pm-8pm, however other working options would be considered.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is £6609.20 per annum
