About the Role
Are you passionate about preparing nutritious, delicious meals that help children thrive? We're looking for a caring, organised nursery cook to join our team at Spring Cedars.
In this role, you'll plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0 to 5, ensuring all dietary, allergy, and nutritional requirements are met. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen while managing stock, ordering supplies, and working within budget.
We're looking for someone with previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen or catering environment, confident in preparing meals for larger numbers, and can work efficiently while maintaining exceptional food hygiene standards.
You'll work closely with the nursery team to create positive mealtime experiences that encourage children to develop healthy eating habits from an early age. If you take pride in providing great food and want to make a real difference to children's well-being every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Spring Cedars is a friendly and welcoming nursery in Exeter, providing high-quality care and early education for children from birth to five years. As part of spring by Action for Children, we're passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
