Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Nursery Deputy Manager role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Nursery Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safeguarding are consistently maintained.

- Supervising nursery staff
- Organizing daily routines
- Planning age-appropriate activities
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive environment for children and families
- Monitoring children’s progress
- Maintaining accurate records
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and health and safety requirements
- Contributing to staff development through mentoring, training, and performance support
Qualifications
- Strong safeguarding and safeguarding children skills, with a clear understanding of relevant legislation and best practices.
- Experience in nursery and nursery management, including day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and curriculum planning.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Relevant childcare or early years qualification (Level 3 or above in Early Years Education or equivalent).
- Knowledge of early years frameworks and standards (such as the EYFS) and experience implementing them in practice.
- Proven ability to lead a team, organize workloads, and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Up-to-date first aid training and health and safety awareness in a childcare setting.
- Ability to work flexibly, use sound judgment, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
