Deputy Manager – Bright Horizons Canada Square Day Nursery and Preschool

We’re seeking a Deputy Manager to join our Canada Square Nursery, located in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from public transport links.

Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team to deliver outstanding early years care and education.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily nursery operations, including standards, budgeting, and occupancy growth.
- Partner with the Local Authority, parents/carers, and external professionals for consistent high-quality service.
- Support succession planning, training, and team professional development, fostering leadership growth.
- Contribute to nursery performance, retention rates, and business success.
Requirements
We’re looking for candidates who meet the following:
Qualifications
- A full and relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years.
- Experience in Early Years leadership (e.g., Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or Third in Charge).

Experience & Skills
- Proven track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ in regulatory inspections.
- Confident, decision-making, and leadership experience—including supporting teams.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge, with adherence to legislative requirements.
- Ability to build trustful partnerships with parents, colleagues, and professionals.
- Skilled in varied communication techniques (with children and adults).
