Early Years Educator – Lunchtime Cover & Afterschool Run
Hours: 11:30am – 4:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Part-time, Permanent

Treehouse Nursery School in East London is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Early Years Educator to join our team in a part-time role covering lunchtime support and the afterschool run.
As a UNICEF Rights Respecting Nursery School, we place children’s rights, well-being, and voices at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking someone who shares our values and is passionate about supporting children during key transition points of their day.
About the Role
This role focuses on supporting children during lunchtime routines and ensuring a smooth, safe, and nurturing transition into the afterschool period.
You will:
- Support children during lunchtime, promoting positive mealtime experiences, independence, and good social skills.
- Ensure children’s safety, well-being, and emotional needs are met during busy transition times.
- Assist with setting up and supervising calm, engaging activities during the early afternoon period.
- Support and supervise children during the afterschool run (3:00pm – 4:00pm), ensuring safe handovers and collection procedures.
- Embed rights-respecting principles in daily interactions, encouraging respect, kindness, and inclusion.
- Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team to maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organised environment.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a caring and dependable individual who:
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or has relevant childcare experience).
- Has experience working with young children in an EYFS setting.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to children’s rights, well-being, and inclusion.
- Is calm, patient, and nurturing, particularly during transition periods.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues.
- Brings warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young children.
