Salary starting from £45,510.40 per annum (dependent on qualifications, experience, and location allowances).

Fulham Wharf Day Nursery and Preschool is a stunning, Ofsted-rated Good setting with 99 places, housed in a beautiful traditional building with spacious windows that let in plenty of natural light. An unusual highlight for London nurseries: a large garden with cycling tracks! We’re within easy reach of Fulham Broadway, Putney Bridge station, and the South Circular route.
The Role: Nursery Manager
As Nursery Manager, you’ll lead a dynamic team to deliver outstanding early years care and education while embodying our core values and setting the tone for an environment where learning, play, and growth are celebrated. Your engage with:
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Day-to-Day Operations
- Provide outstanding care and education to children aged 0-5, ensuring high-quality experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Own the financial, operational, and staffing responsibilities of the nursery, optimising cost efficiency and performance.
- Oversee commercial planning and people strategies to grow full-time equivalent (FTE) revenue.
- Prioritise training, support, and high engagement for the team, fostering a culture of development.
- Recruit, nurture, and inspire high-performing Early Years professionals.
- Maintain strict adherence to compliance standards (Ofsted, safeguarding, and legislative requirements).
- Nursery Operations & Safeguarding
- Lead day-to-day safeguarding duties as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Manage the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Lead the nursery’s response to regulatory inspections, with a proven track record for ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes.

Requirements
Essential
- Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Practice, Foundation Degree in Early Years).
- Proven experience in a Early Years leadership role, ideally as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or equivalent in a pedau (pre-school) setting.
- Experience leading a regulated regulatory inspection resulting in a rating of Good or ‘Outstanding’.
- Strong ability to build trust with parents/carers and develop strong relationships.
- Excellent decision-making skills with a confident, supportive leadership style.
- Expertise in safeguarding and knowledge of armed criminal reconnaissance (ACRS) and safer recruitment practices.
- An understanding of the synergy between financial performance and delivering high-quality early years service.
- Confidence in data-driven approached to evidence practice and optimize efficiency.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with multi-generational or business-specific early education teams.
- Familiarity with Bright Horizons’ systems or practices, or previous exposure to large-scale nursery settings.
