Location: Roehampton, Wandsworth, London

Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead a welcoming and supportive early years setting in Roehampton.

The Nursery Manager will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance are maintained. Working alongside a dedicated team, the Nursery Manager will provide strong leadership and create an environment where children, staff and families feel valued and supported.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for children and developing a high-performing nursery team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Ensure the setting consistently meets EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, motivate and support the nursery team, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Oversee staff performance, development, training and professional progression.
  • Ensure children receive high-quality care, education and learning opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with parents, carers and the wider community.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively across the setting.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and compliance.
  • Lead on continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery.
  • Manage staffing, rotas and resources effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the setting.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Nursery Manager and wider leadership team.

About The Ideal Candidate

The successful Nursery Manager will have strong leadership experience within an early years setting and a thorough understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.

The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate

  • A recognised Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience in a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or senior early years leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and current safeguarding requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
  • The ability to motivate, develop and inspire an early years team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A strong understanding of nursery compliance, policies and procedures.
  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education.
  • A proactive, professional and solution-focused approach.
  • The confidence to take overall responsibility for the successful running of the setting.
