Role Description

The Nursery Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based at Bournemouth Day Nursery in Bournemouth. This role involves providing day-to-day care for children, supporting their learning and development, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Typical duties include:

The Nursery Nurse will:

  • Follow safeguarding policies
  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the nursery

The role also includes:

  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring the setting is clean and organised
  • Participating in team meetings and training

Qualifications

  • Experience in nursery or early years settings, with strong Nursery and Nursing-related care skills
  • Solid understanding of Safeguarding practices and child protection procedures
  • Creativity skills for planning engaging, age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with children in a patient, supportive, and inclusive manner
  • Relevant early years qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of early years frameworks and best practices in child development
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail for maintaining records and supporting daily routines
  • Up-to-date first aid training and DBS check (or willingness to obtain) are highly beneficial
