Providing high standard of care to neonates and their families under clinical supervision of NCOS
- Support parents and staff with preparation of discharge of the neonate in special care and the transitional care based on the postnatal ward.
- Teach and assess parents craft skills
- Maintain high standards of care both in hospital and community settings
- Support "Baby Friendly Initiative"
- To provide support and on-going assessment of the neonate post discharge as delegated by NCOS.
- Assist parents/carers to develop their skills and build confidence prior to and following discharge.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Caring for babies receiving Oxygen and participate in Oxygen studies.
- Participate in the care of babies requiring phototherapy.
- Be able to identify child protection concerns and take appropriate action.
- Maintain legible, accurate and contemporaneous records in accordance with the Trust Policy
- Be responsible for own professional development.
