Nursery Operations Manager Opportunity

An excellent new opportunity has arisen for a committed Nursery Operations Manager to work in a leading preparatory school based in the Birmingham, West Midlands area. You will be working for one of the top performing preparatory schools in West Midlands

This is an independent preparatory school for children aged 4 to 11 that prides itself on the creation of well-rounded individuals, by instilling a set of values that will carry them far in life

As The Manager Your Key Responsibilities Include

  • Oversee the implementation of a varied, inclusive and high-quality EYFS curriculum, leading short-, medium- and long-term planning and driving continuous improvement
  • Ensure the welfare, development, safeguarding and wellbeing of children remain the highest priority, while maintaining a safe, stimulating and enabling learning environment
  • Monitor children's progress, achievement and development throughout their EYFS journey, ensuring high-quality assessment, profiles and records are maintained
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with parents and families, ensuring children's individual needs and wellbeing are understood and supported
  • Lead, motivate and support the EYFS team, setting clear expectations and development objectives to achieve consistently high standards of care and education
  • Provide training, mentoring, supervision and professional development, supporting staff to deliver the EYFS Statutory Framework effectively and encouraging creativity and innovation
  • Ensure the department operates in line with all relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements and regulatory standards, maintaining high standards of compliance and practice
  • Oversee the effective organisation and deployment of staff and resources, ensuring statutory ratios are met and the department runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the school, working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues to promote its aims, values and ethos
  • Embed the principles of the West House Way within the EYFS department, contributing to the wider life of the school and enhancing children's learning, care and experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience working within an Early Years setting
  • Experience of working with children aged 0 to 5 years
  • Thorough knowledge of Experience of implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Knowledge of SEND requirements and inclusive practice
  • Experience of liaising with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Experience of delivering staff training and mentoring
  • Experience of managing an Ofsted/ISI inspection
  • Experience of working in a DSL/Deputy DSL role

To be considered for this position you must hold Level 5 qualification in Early Years Leadership/Management or willingness to work towards this + SEND or SENCO qualification + Paediatric First Aid training

Compensation and Benefits

The successful Manager will receive an excellent salary of GBP34,000 - GBP37,000 per annum DOE. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week on days. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
