About the Role

Join Harpenden Day Nursery & Preschool, part of Grandir UK, as a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner. This role is essential for supporting and inspiring children in a welcoming, child-focused environment. You’ll play a key role in fostering curiosity, nurturing growth, and ensuring moments of thriving and development.

  • Salary: £12.71–£14.62 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Nestled in a beautiful converted house, our Harpenden Day Nursery & Preschool blends a small, family-like setting with outstanding care. Key features include:

Core Responsibilities

Childcare & Development

  • Promote high nursing standards of quality in our nursery structure
  • Support and supervise playroom staff in day-to-day childcare roles
  • Ensure keycarer procedures are effectively implemented and deploy staff to maintain standards
  • Evaluate and allocate children appropriately to keycaring roles based on EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) practices

Parental Engagement

  • Provide professional, transparent feedback to parents on their child’s progress
  • Actively promote the nursery to existing and prospective families

Staff Relations

  • Develop open and positive working relationships with colleagues
  • Establish friendly, professional bonds with parents and carers
