Role Description
The Nursery Practitioner will provide high-quality care and learning experiences for nursery-aged children in line with the school’s ethos and relevant early years frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves working closely with colleagues to create engaging learning spaces, communicating effectively with parents and carers, and following safeguarding, health, and safety, and school policies. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Finborough School in Stowmarket, requiring consistent presence and active participation in the nursery’s daily routines.
Qualifications
- Relevant early years qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare or equivalent) and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating play-based learning activities for nursery-aged children.
- Strong skills in observation, assessment, and record-keeping to track and support children’s development.
- Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, with a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Positive, patient, and caring approach, with the ability to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Good organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage routines and transitions throughout the nursery day.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication; first aid training and previous experience in a school or nursery setting are desirable.
