As Room Supervisor
You will play a key role in ensuring smooth transitions for children moving from the Busy Bees Room into the Worker Bees Room, and onwards into Preschool. You will help create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels supported, valued and encouraged to explore.

Greenbank Preparatory School and Day Nursery is expanding its early years provision, and we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Worker Bee Room Supervisor to help lead this exciting new stage of our Nursery development.
As Room Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth transitions for children moving from the Busy Bees Room into the Worker Bees Room, and onwards into Preschool. You will help create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels supported, valued and encouraged to explore.

- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Worker Bees Room within the Preschool setting.
- Work closely with the Nursery and Preschool Managers to support smooth transitions between age groups.
- Ensure a welcoming, positive atmosphere for all children and families.
- Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
Child Development & Key Person Duties
- Act as key person for a group of children, building strong, trusting relationships with them and their families.
- Carry out regular observations to inform next steps in learning and development.
- Produce annual progress reports and share updates with parents.
- Attend parents’ evenings and communicate effectively with families.
Planning & Learning Environment
- Plan and deliver open-ended, engaging activities that meet individual needs and inspire curiosity.
- Support children to develop independence, confidence and strong foundations for future learning.
- Manage behaviour positively, using supportive and consistent strategies.
- Maintain a clean, safe learning environment, checking resources regularly for hazards or damage.

- Work collaboratively with the wider Early Years team.
- Follow all Nursery and Preschool policies and procedures.
- Attend monthly staff meetings, training sessions, open mornings and Friends of Greenbank events.
- Take part in personal development reviews/appraisals.
- Raise any concerns regarding children’s care or education with the Nursery Managers or Senior Leadership Team.
- Uphold confidentiality and act as a positive role model for staff and children.
What We’re Looking For

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in planning child-led, open-ended activities.
- A commitment to high-quality care and safeguarding.
- Confidence supporting children through transitions and developmental milestones.
