Are you an experienced early years professional with a passion for supporting babies during the most important stage of their development? Busy Bees Lewisham is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Room Leader to lead our thriving Baby Room on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating nurturing environments where babies can feel safe, secure, and inspired to learn through play. As our Baby Room Leader, you will work closely with the wider management team to deliver outstanding care and high-quality early years experiences for our youngest children.

About The Role

As the Baby Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team within our Baby Room.
  • Create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-2 years.
  • Support children's learning and development through engaging activities and experiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and provide regular updates on their child's progress.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and wellbeing are maintained.
  • Act as a role model for best practice and support the professional development of colleagues.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
  • Has previous experience working with babies in an Early Years setting.
  • Has leadership experience or is ready to take the next step in their childcare career.
  • Is passionate about delivering exceptional childcare and providing the very best start in life.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Understands child development and the importance of responsive, nurturing care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities and curriculum in your room.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children.
  • Foster a high-performing team through supportive leadership and collaboration.
  • Oversee the development and wellbeing of children, ensuring their progress is tracked and communicated with parents.
  • Take on the role of Key Person, ensuring the holistic development and personal care needs of a group of children.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met, maintaining a clean and secure environment.

Ideal Candidate

  • Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
  • Experience in an early years setting, with supervisory experience an advantage ideally as a Nursery Room Leader, Nursery Room Manager or Nursery Practitioner.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about fostering children’s development and creating positive relationships with families.
