Nursery Chef
£15.58 per hour | 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:00pm | Permanent, 52 weeks of the year
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Chef to join our team at Riegate St Marys, and provide nutritious, delicious and freshly prepared meals for the children in our nursery.
As our Nursery Chef, you will play an important role in supporting the health, wellbeing and development of the children by preparing balanced meals and snacks that meet their nutritional needs, dietary requirements and individual preferences.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals and snacks for children.
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies and individual needs.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored and served in accordance with current food safety regulations.
- Manage kitchen stock, ordering and food supplies effectively.
- Keep accurate records relating to food temperatures, allergens and kitchen safety.
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming kitchen environment.
- Work closely with the nursery management team to ensure menus meet the needs of the children.
About You
- Has experience working as a chef, ideally within a nursery, school, childcare or similar setting.
- Has a genuine passion for preparing healthy and enjoyable food for children.
- Understands food hygiene, allergen management and safe food preparation.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food presentation.
- Is friendly, approachable and enjoys being part of a team.
- Has good knowledge of children's nutritional needs.

A Food Hygiene Certificate and relevant catering/chef qualifications are desirable.
