Kiddie Capers Childcare Hailsham

Kiddie Capers Childcare Hailsham is a brand-new nursery designed to be a bright, welcoming space where children and staff can thrive. With places for up to 80 children aged 0–5 years, the nursery features dedicated age-specific rooms, a cosy sleep room, a sensory room, and secure outdoor spaces, including a baby garden, a forest school area, and an older children’s play area. Every detail is carefully designed to create a nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence.

Join our team as a Nursery Support Assistant

Helping to create a safe, clean and nurturing environment for children. You'll support with preparing and serving meals and snacks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, completing housekeeping and laundry duties, undertaking health and safety checks and assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery. We're looking for someone who is reliable, caring and enjoys working as part of a team to support children's wellbeing and development.

Kiddie Capers Childcare has 13 settings located across Sussex from Ardingly to the South Coast. Owned and operated by two local families, Kiddie Capers Childcare provides a truly enriching early years education, where every child’s potential is reached, and individuality is celebrated. Hours & Salary

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • £8.00-£12.71 per hour (depending on age)

Key Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • An interest or passion for childcare/early years development

  • A clean and organised approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Preparing snacks and tea for the children ensuring food hygiene standards are upheld and allergy checks followed

  • Covering staff whilst they are on breaks and out of the room

  • Serving children’s lunches from our external hot meal provider

  • Clearing/ tidying up after snacks and lunches

  • Keeping food preparation areas clean and tidy throughout the day

  • Daily Laundry – washing, drying, folding and sorting of the laundry

  • General tidying/ cleaning throughout the day to help keep the setting a nice environment for children and staff

  • Ad hoc housekeeping/ operational tasks as directed by the Nursery Manager

  • Prepare and serve food, milk, drinks and snacks to children in accordance with policies and guidelines

  • To prepare areas for eating, ensuring they meet high standards of cleanliness.

  • Assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties

  • Carry out ongoing cleaning of the nursery

  • Carry out and document daily health and safety checks

  • Record and maintain accurate records of children’s attendance
