Role Overview

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Nursing Assessor to join our permanent academic team at our London office. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing Access to Higher Education Nursing programmes awarded by Ascentis and Gateway Qualifications.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and professional team, helping learners achieve their ambitions of progressing into higher education and careers within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learner assignments in line with the requirements of Ascentis and Gateway Qualifications.
  • Deliver engaging face-to-face teaching sessions, tutorials, and learner support.
  • Provide high-quality academic guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding organisation standards and internal quality assurance procedures.
  • Participate in standardisation meetings and quality assurance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Academic and Quality teams to maintain excellent learner outcomes.
  • Support learners throughout their educational journey and promote high levels of achievement.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification (NMC Registered) with relevant clinical experience.
  • Experience teaching and/or assessing Nursing or Access to Higher Education qualifications.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and/or assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering Access to Higher Education programmes.
  • Experience working with Ascentis and/or Gateway Qualifications.
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification or experience.
  • Experience supporting adult learners in further education.
