Nursing Assistant Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and enthusiastic Band 2 Nursing Assistant to join our term-time-only team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in children's nursing while making a positive difference to children, young people, and their families.
Key Points:
- This development post offers a structured pathway from Band 2 to Band 3.
- The successful applicant will complete the Trust's Clinical Support Worker Development Programme and, on successful completion of the required competencies, will progress to Band 3 Agenda for Change (AfC).
Role Details:
The Special Needs Nursing Service (SNNS) provides care and support to children and young people with complex healthcare needs in specialist schools and community settings across Manchester.
- Supporting children and young people's health, wellbeing, and care needs.
- Working alongside registered nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care.
- Undertaking delegated clinical and non-clinical tasks within your competence.
- Maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Communicating effectively with families, carers, schools, and healthcare professionals.
- Contributing to safeguarding by recognising and reporting concerns.

Initial Onboarding:
In being successfully appointed to this role, to ensure you receive support and guidance, the expectation is that you can travel to our Oxford Road site for the first 4 days for your new role, even though your place of work may be at another site.
