Registered Nursing Associate (Band 4) - Renal Ward & Acute Renal Service
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nursing Associate (Band 4) to join our Renal Ward and Acute Renal Service team. This is an exciting opportunity to care for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease within a specialist service providing high-quality inpatient and emergency renal care.
About the Role
Working alongside registered nurses, doctors, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will deliver and monitor person-centred care for a defined group of patients, working within your scope of practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. You will support patients with complex renal needs while promoting their safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Duties
- Undertake a range of clinical skills such as monitoring and interpreting observations, supporting medication administration, venepuncture, catheter and wound care, and assisting with specialist renal treatments and procedures.
- Recognise and escalate changes in a patient's condition.
- Contribute to the coordination and continuity of care throughout their hospital journey.

About Us
As a Registered Nursing Associate (Band 4) within the Renal Ward, Acute Renal Service, and Norfolk and Norwich Kidney Centre (NNKC), you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease. The role includes a rotational element between clinical areas, providing opportunities to gain experience across renal services and develop specialist dialysis knowledge and competencies.

Key Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a defined group of patients within your scope of practice.
- Undertake a range of clinical skills including monitoring and interpreting observations, venepuncture, wound care, catheter care, supporting medication administration, and recognising and escalating changes in a patient's condition.
- Support the care of patients receiving specialist renal treatments, including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and the management of acute kidney injury.
- Develop the skills and knowledge required to safely care for patients undergoing dialysis treatment and contribute to the delivery of specialist renal care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, support admissions and discharges, assist with investigations and procedures, and ensure high standards of infection prevention and control are maintained.
