Nursing & Care Lead – Elderly Nursing Home

Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday working mostly supernumerary hours.
Qualification: RGN Required – Active NMC Pin Essential

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected provider of elderly care, who are seeking an experienced Nursing & Care Lead to join their team in Worthing.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with previous leadership experience to take a visible, hands-on role overseeing both nursing and care provision within a high-quality elderly care setting supporting older people, including those living with dementia and complex care needs.

The role would suit an experienced Clinical Lead, Unit Manager, Senior Nurse or Nurse Manager looking to take the next step in their career within a values-led organisation where quality of care and resident wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

You will take a senior role within the service, providing day-to-day leadership and clinical support to the nursing and care teams.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Providing visible leadership across both nursing and care teams.
  • Supporting high standards of clinical care, resident wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Ensuring care planning, assessments and clinical documentation remain to a high standard.
  • Supporting clinical governance, audits, CQC compliance and quality improvement.
  • Providing advice and guidance to the team around complex clinical needs.
  • Supporting staff development, supervision and performance.
  • Working closely with the Clinical Lead and Deputy Home Manager to ensure the service operates effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting a positive culture where staff feel valued, developed and confident in their roles.

About You

We are looking for a Registered General Nurse who is confident working within an elderly care environment and has previous leadership experience.

You will ideally have:

  • An active NMC Pin and minimum 3 years' nursing experience.
  • Previous experience in elderly care, ideally within a nursing or dementia setting.
  • Experience leading or supervising a nursing/care team.
  • A good understanding of CQC requirements and clinical governance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and person-centred approach to care.
  • A visible and approachable leadership style.
  • The confidence to manage challenging situations and support colleagues effectively.
  • A genuine passion for providing excellent care to older people.
