I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate
We are seeking a visible, hands-on leader with genuine commercial acumen and a strong understanding of what excellent care looks like in practice. You will combine clinical credibility with the confidence to hold a team to account, engage families and residents, and translate group standards into day-to-day operational delivery.
Candidates from established corporate care groups will be of particular interest given the scale and pace of the environment, though strong candidates from smaller or independent providers will be considered where there is clear evidence of turnaround success, CQC delivery and longevity in role.
Above all, the successful candidate will be motivated by quality, comfortable leading through change, and energised by the opportunity to make a home genuinely their own within a supportive national structure.
