Purpose of the Role

To deliver high-quality on-site Level 2 NVQ assessments for construction and plant candidates, complete portfolios to Centre and awarding-body standard and achieve agreed monthly completion targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out on-site Level 2 NVQ assessments, including plant, groundworks, trades and related routes as allocated
  • Observe candidates, collect valid evidence and complete accurate assessment records
  • Submit completed portfolios for internal verification within agreed timescales
  • Assess additional units where required and record them against the unit-based target system
  • Liaise professionally with candidates, site contacts, clients and the office
  • Plan travel efficiently and use the company vehicle, fuel card, phone and laptop responsibly
  • Maintain awarding-body, Centre and quality-assurance requirements
  • Keep assessment records, emails and learner data secure and up to date
  • Represent KJ Construction Training professionally on site at all times
  • Attend standardisation, IQA feedback and team meetings as required

Targets

Performance is measured in assessment units:

  • 1 completed Level 2 NVQ = 1.00 unit
  • Each additional assessed unit on the same candidate = 0.25 units
  • Minimum expected target: 16.00 units per calendar month

A unit is only considered valid once the work has been submitted and internally verified.

Person Specification

Essential

  • CAVA, A1 or equivalent assessing qualification
  • Occupational competence in relevant Level 2 construction and/or plant routes
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel nationwide and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • IT proficient, confident using email, e-portfolios and basic IT systems
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage a diary of site visits
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience assessing on live construction sites and major projects
  • Experience assessing with awarding-body assessment procedures
  • Knowledge of CPCS / NPORS card upgrade routes

Package

The role is offering the following compensation:

  • £35,000-£40,000 salary, dependent on experience and accreditations (to be supplied)
  • Company van
  • Fuel card for business use
  • Company mobile phone
  • Company laptop
  • 23 days’ annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Pension
  • Bonus at Director’s discretion, available following minimum expected target
  • Pre-approved overnight accommodation for clustered work or where travel makes a same-day return unreasonable
