About the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi-agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region.

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and people-focused HR/Resourcing Officer to join our friendly NWROCU HR and DMS Team. Working at the heart of the organisation, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the employee lifecycle. In this role, you will work closely with managers, staff and regional HR colleagues to support recruitment, employee wellbeing, workforce management and organisational change, ensuring our people have the support they need to deliver critical policing services. As a trusted point of contact for HR and resourcing matters, you will help deliver an efficient, professional and customer-focused service while maintaining the Duty Management System and contributing to workforce and organisational priorities.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Level 3 Foundation Certificate or equivalent and an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services.

The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm.

About the Post

  • The post is subject to an initial secondment of two years reviewable based on continuous funding and performance.
  • Further developments in NWROCU’s capabilities are anticipated in the future.
  • Applications received for Operational roles that require mandatory Officer Safety/First Aid training must hold valid in date training or able to undertake upon application.

Salary and Hours

  • The Grade of this role has been determined using the Merseyside HAY procedure and has been afforded a Merseyside Grade E. This equates to a salary range of £30,333 - £32,613. Successful applicants from other Regional Forces will be paid a salary within this pay range.
  • These are full-time roles working ‘flexitime’ however, applicants must be aware that there is a requirement for the post holders to be flexible in relation to working hours.

Application Requirements

  • Successful applicants working within NWROCU will be subject to NCA Clearance, MV (Management Vetting) and SC (Security Clearance) prior to taking up post.
  • NWROCU is committed to ensuring that we have a workforce that represents the communities we serve, and we are keen to attract applications from underrepresented groups.
  • Applications from GMP will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • All applications must be supported by the Home Force support, the level of support required must comply with local Force policy e.g. whether support required at ACC level and HR Support. Before starting an application, applicants must download the NWROCU secondment support form, ensure it is completed in full and then upload to your application. Applicants will be prompted and applications will not proceed until this has been completed.
