The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit
A collaborative multi-agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region.
About the Role
A year after Baroness Casey's landmark National Audit on Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, policing continues to drive transformational change in how vulnerable children are protected and offenders are brought to justice. As an Intelligence Development Officer within the TOEX Programme, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Operation Beaconport, the national policing response to group-based child sexual exploitation, helping to turn complex intelligence and data into insight that informs investigations, drives safeguarding, and shapes the response to organised exploitation.
About the Organisation
The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm.

Contract Details
The initial secondment period is for a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027, reviewable with any extension subject to performance and continued funding. Applicants who have applied in the last 6 months are not eligible to apply again.
Job Requirements
- Grade: Merseyside Grade D
- Salary: £30,333-£32,613
- Hours: Full time ‘flexitime’
- Vetting: Subject to MV (Management Vetting) and SC (Security Clearance)
- Training: Applicants for Operational roles must hold valid in date Officer Safety/First Aid training or be able to undertake upon application.
Additional Information
- In cases where the commute to work is in excess of the applicant’s current commute, the excess travel will be paid.
