Role Overview

You will join an established engineering consultancy supporting technically complex defence programmes and helping organisations manage the challenges that can affect critical assets throughout their lifecycle. With a strong focus on technical excellence, professional development, and flexible working, the role offers genuine scope to broaden your expertise while contributing to work with a clear operational purpose.
What You Will Need
- British nationality.
- A relevant qualification in engineering, supply chain, asset management, or a related discipline.
- Strong practical knowledge of obsolescence management principles, processes, and best practice.
- Experience delivering obsolescence management projects and working directly with clients or senior stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of IEC 62402 and relevant defence obsolescence management guidance.
Salary and Rewards
- £40,000 to £50,000, with fully remote working available anywhere in the UK.

Your Role
- Lead the delivery of obsolescence management activities across complex defence programmes.
- Develop and implement obsolescence management policies, plans, and processes aligned with recognised industry standards and defence requirements.
- Manage projects from initial planning through to delivery, ensuring quality, timescales, and contractual requirements are met.
- Identify, assess, and develop mitigation strategies for obsolescence risks across complex asset portfolios.
- Provide technical advice to clients and translate their requirements into practical obsolescence management solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement across obsolescence management methods, tools, and delivery processes.
Your Experience
- Demonstrable experience in obsolescence management within an engineering, defence, or similarly complex technical environment.
- Strong understanding of obsolescence risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and lifecycle management.
- Experience managing technical projects and producing clear reports for senior stakeholders.
- Confident client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a structured approach to complex challenges.
- Professional membership or active development within the obsolescence management community is advantageous.

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.
