Obsolescence Manager
At Allan Webb, we are currently seeking an experienced Obsolescence Manager to lead our obsolescence management capability and drive strategic delivery across high-profile defence and engineering programmes.
About the Role
As Obsolescence Manager, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring asset availability and lifecycle optimisation for our clients. Working closely with the Head of Obsolescence Management Capability, you'll lead obsolescence management activities across Allan Webb Ltd, ensuring compliance with industry standards whilst delivering innovative solutions that keep critical assets operational.
This is a strategic role combining technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement. You'll be instrumental in developing our DiamondOM® Solution and representing Allan Webb within the obsolescence management community.
What You'll Be Doing
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of obsolescence management services across all Allan Webb projects
- Develop and implement OM policies and plans in line with BSEN IEC62402 and MOD OM Policy/Guidance
- Drive continuous improvement of our DiamondOM® Solution and obsolescence management processes
- Represent Allan Webb as an active member of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management (IIOM)
Project Delivery
- Manage end-to-end delivery of OM projects, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and timescales
- Identify, assess, and mitigate obsolescence risks across complex asset portfolios
- Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality, compliance, and client requirements
Client Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on obsolescence management matters
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and translating them into effective solutions
- Provide expert advice and guidance on obsolescence challenges
- Represent Allan Webb in client meetings, presentations, and industry events

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Relevant qualification in engineering, supply chain, asset management, or related discipline
- Thorough understanding of obsolescence management processes, principles, and best practices
- Demonstrable knowledge of BSEN IEC62402 and MOD OM Policy/Guidance
- Proven experience delivering OM projects and managing client relationships
- Full membership of IIOM (or actively working towards it)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- Experience with DiamondOM® Solution or similar OM platforms
- Background in defence or aerospace sectors
- Project management qualification or experience
- Understanding of supply chain and asset lifecycle management
