About The Opportunity

Protect those who protect our communities.

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our Occupational Health team, supporting police officers, firefighters and staff across our organisation.

In this rewarding role, you'll provide expert occupational health advice, helping employees stay healthy, resilient and fit for work while supporting managers with evidence-based clinical guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational health referrals and fitness-for-work assessments
  • Undertake pre-employment and health surveillance medicals
  • Manage sickness absence and complex case management
  • Advise on workplace adjustments, rehabilitation and return-to-work plans
  • Produce clear, professional reports and recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with HR, managers, Health & Safety and clinical colleagues
  • Support service improvement and provide guidance to Occupational Health Technician

About You

  • ✔ Registered Nurse (Part 1) or equivalent professional qualification
  • ✔ Current NMC (or relevant professional body) registration
  • ✔ Postgraduate Occupational Health qualification
  • ✔ Significant Occupational Health experience
  • ✔ Strong clinical assessment, case management and report-writing skills
  • ✔ Confident providing practical, evidence-based advice to managers
  • ✔ Experience within policing, fire and rescue services, or other emergency service environments would be highly desirable
