The Opportunity

As an Occupational Health Advisor based at our Atlantic Quay office in Glasgow, you’ll be part of our wider Occupational Health team, providing a proactive, high-quality service that supports the health, wellbeing and safety of our people.

This is a part-time role working 22 hours per week, dedicated days Tues Wed Thursday 08.30 - 16.30, This is based on business needs.

The salary for this role starts from £44,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata for 22 hours per week, depending on experience.

You’ll provide a broad Occupational Health service at Atlantic Quay while working closely with colleagues across Occupational Health, HR, Health & Safety and management teams. You’ll use your clinical expertise to support colleagues, advise managers and help us continue to deliver a forward-thinking Occupational Health service.

It’s a varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the health and wellbeing of our people. You’ll also be supported in your own development through ongoing training, peer group meetings, CPD and networking opportunities, as well as technical and clinical supervision.

To Be Shortlisted, You’ll Need To Offer

  • A recognised Occupational Health Advisor qualification
  • Proven experience working within Occupational Health, including complex case management and mental health
  • Experience or knowledge of health screening and statutory health surveillance, including noise, respiratory and skin
  • A strong understanding of medical confidentiality, ethics and professional accountability
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) as a minimum
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with managers and stakeholders

Experience of drug and alcohol testing, DSE assessments, policy review, OH audits or team leadership would be advantageous.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing Occupational Health advice and guidance to managers on sickness absence, rehabilitation, workplace adjustments and restrictions of duties
  • Managing complex Occupational Health cases and supporting successful rehabilitation and return to work
  • Conducting health screening, fitness for work assessments and statutory health surveillance
  • Providing guidance on Occupational Health strategies, policies, procedures and statutory requirements
  • Supporting and promoting mental wellbeing, health promotion campaigns and wellbeing initiatives
  • Acting as a collection officer for drug and alcohol testing where required
  • Building strong working relationships with HR, Health & Safety, managers and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining high standards of corporate and clinical governance, quality systems and procedures, including undertaking audits
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Occupational Health community across EDF
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of EDF’s Occupational Health service and strategy

The salary for this role starts from £44,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata for 22 hours per week, depending on experience.
