Company Description
Our organisation provides cost-effective occupational health support to businesses of all sizes, helping staff remain healthy and engaged throughout their employment. Through a comprehensive range of health services, we support employers in managing workplace risk, improving wellbeing and retention, reducing absence, and enhancing productivity. Our services include management referrals, absence management consultancy, mental health screening, counselling, health checks, pre-placement and night-worker screening, as well as a robust Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). We also offer specialist assessments such as spirometry, audiometry, hand-arm vibration (HAVS) testing, skin assessments, vaccinations, and physiotherapy. We work in partnership with employers to create safer, healthier workplaces and sustainable workforce wellbeing.
Role Description
The Occupational Health Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Telford, providing clinical and advisory support to employees and managers. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves:
- Carrying out health surveillance and wellbeing checks
- Contributing to risk assessments
- Promoting best practice in occupational health and safety
- Preparing clear reports and recommendations
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Collaborating closely with HR, Health & Safety, and line managers to address workplace health issues
- Participating in health promotion initiatives
- Continuous improvement of occupational health services
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Occupational Health and OHS, with experience providing clinical and advisory support in workplace settings.
- Proficiency in Sickness Absence Management and Case Management, including assessment, reporting, and guidance on fitness for work and return-to-work plans.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety principles as they relate to employee health, risk assessment, and workplace wellbeing.
- Relevant professional qualification in Occupational Health Nursing or allied health profession (e.g., NMC registration or equivalent), with post-registration OH training preferred.
- Experience in health surveillance and screening (e.g., spirometry, audiometry, HAVS, vaccinations), and familiarity with mental health and wellbeing support.
- Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, confidentiality, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, best practice guidelines, and evidence-based occupational health interventions.
