We're looking for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our HR team. This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise to support colleagues at every stage of their working lives, helping people stay healthy, return to work safely and feel supported when they need it most.

The Difference You'll Make
As our Occupational Health Advisor, you'll provide professional, evidence-based advice that helps colleagues and managers make informed decisions about health at work.
No two days are the same. You'll manage occupational health referrals, advise on fitness for work, workplace adjustments and rehabilitation, and support managers with complex attendance and wellbeing matters. You'll balance sound clinical judgement with empathy, helping colleagues feel listened to, respected and supported throughout their experience.
You'll also help shape how occupational health develops at Leeds Beckett. Whether it's identifying wellbeing trends, contributing to health promotion initiatives or working alongside HR colleagues to continuously improve our service, you'll play an important role in creating a healthy, inclusive workplace where everyone can succeed.

What You'll Bring
You'll be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and a recognised Occupational Health qualification, together with a commitment to continuing professional development.
You'll have experience delivering occupational health services in a complex organisation and be confident managing a varied caseload involving sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.
Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working with people.
You'll be approachable, compassionate and able to build credibility quickly, communicating with confidence while treating every colleague with professionalism, care and respect.
We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience of:
- Occupational health assessments and management referrals
- Sickness absence management and workplace rehabilitation
- Advising on reasonable adjustments and fitness for work
- Health surveillance across complex organisations with diverse roles
- Interpreting occupational health legislation and professional guidance
- Maintaining accurate confidential clinical records and using occupational health systems
- Promoting workplace wellbeing and developing health initiatives
- Working collaboratively with HR colleagues and managers to achieve positive outcomes

Our HR team is based at our Headingley Campus. This role offers hybrid working, with a combination of home and campus working. Attendance on campus will be required for meetings, collaborative working and occasional in-person clinical appointments. We are flexible about working patterns, although a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week is required.
