Role Description
The Occupational Health Physician will provide on-site clinical services in Newmarket, delivering evidence-based occupational health assessments, fitness-to-work evaluations, and return-to-work planning for a range of employee populations. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Conducting consultations
- Reviewing medical histories and workplace risks
- Advising on workplace adjustments
- Liaising with employers to support safe and sustainable working environments

The role involves:
- Preparing clear, objective clinical reports
- Contributing to health surveillance programs
- Supporting the management of work-related injuries, illnesses, and long-term conditions
- Collaborating with MedHub’s multidisciplinary team to integrate occupational health into broader patient care pathways
- Participating in training sessions for staff and client organizations
This is a contract role with scheduled on-site clinics, requiring commitment to high clinical standards, confidentiality, and professional communication.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine, with the ability to apply clinical knowledge to workplace settings.
- Strong foundation in general Medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of common and work-related conditions.
- Experience in Training and educating employers, managers, and staff on occupational health, workplace safety, and wellbeing initiatives.
- Proven ability in Working with Physicians and wider multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure consistent clinical standards.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in occupational health or occupational medicine (e.g., Diploma or MSc) and full GMC registration with license to practise.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK occupational health legislation, best-practice guidelines, and confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills, with a pragmatic, collaborative approach to employer and employee needs.
- Experience in private healthcare or corporate occupational health settings is beneficial; evidence of ongoing CPD and commitment to quality improvement is expected.
