Fohcus is a Lancaster based occupational health provider. The company offers comprehensive health surveillance services, including audiology, respiratory assessments, HAVS, skin checks, safety critical medicals, fork lift truck assessments, and biological monitoring. Role Description

The Occupational Health Physician will provide clinical expertise across Fohcus' occupational health services, including health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments, and absence management reviews. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting medical examinations, interpreting diagnostic results, preparing clear and evidence-based reports for employers, and advising on workplace adjustments, health risks, and regulatory compliance. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to wellbeing and preventive health initiatives, and delivering training or guidance to employers on occupational health best practices.

  • Strong grounding in Medicine and Occupational Medicine, with the ability to apply clinical knowledge to workplace health and safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in Occupational Health, including health surveillance, fitness-for-role assessments, and absence management.
  • Relevant medical degree and full registration with an appropriate medical licensing body; postgraduate qualification in occupational medicine (e.g., DipOccMed or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to produce concise, evidence-based reports and provide clear guidance to non-clinical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on fair, consistent, and non-discriminatory practice.
  • Ability to attend occasional site visits in England, Wales and Isle of Man.
