About the role

As an Occupational Health Technician, you will deliver health assessment and health surveillance programmes for a variety of clients. This is a hands-on, mobile and highly varied role where you will work both independently and as part of a wider team.

What you’ll be doing

You will support clients throughout the region by delivering a professional, reliable and friendly occupational health service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out a variety of health screening tests, including spirometry, audiometry and blood pressure monitoring
  • Performing fitness for work medicals, such as safety critical, working at heights and forklift truck assessments
  • Delivering Health MOT checks and offering wellbeing advice
  • Maintaining health screening equipment and facilities day to day
  • Recording and maintaining clear, accurate and concise medical records
  • Ensuring medical records and equipment are stored safely when working offsite
  • Driving mobile health screening units when required
  • Working to strict protocols and procedures
  • Observing client workplaces to understand the nature of different roles and working environments
  • Contributing to Innovate Healthcare’s purpose, culture and values

About you

You do not need previous occupational health experience to apply. Experience in a healthcare environment is desirable, but not essential. This role would suit someone with an educational background in Sports and Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or a similar field, as well as anyone with the right transferable skills and enthusiasm to learn.

We are looking for proactive, reliable and adaptable people who communicate well, enjoy working with customers and can take ownership of their workload.

You’ll bring:

  • A full manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to work independently and use your initiative
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • The ability to thrive in a busy and varied working environment
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using a range of software packages
  • Flexibility and adaptability when workloads change
  • Punctuality, reliability and a commitment to high standards
