This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to develop your skills working with adults and children. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our well established Band 5 rotation. This post is ideal if you are newly qualified or an existing Band 5.

We are offering a rotational Band 5 post with opportunities to work across a variety of clinical areas, including:

  • Adult inpatient orthopaedics (Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre)
  • Paediatric orthopaedics (Oxford Children’s Hospital)
  • Specialist Surgery Inpatient Ward (West Wing, John Radcliffe Hospital)

Each rotation is for a period of 8 months.

The post holder will:

  • Manage a caseload and plan and undertake occupational therapy assessments and interventions with support from senior colleagues.
  • Work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary teams and work autonomously.
  • Stay up to date with evolving evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and developing their own continued professional development, for them to progress and underpin their interventions and assessment by evidence and theoretical knowledge.
  • Participate in weekend and bank holiday rota.
  • Participate in service developments and projects.
  • Delegate and support unregistered workforce and students.

In each area, the post holder will be supported by a clinical supervisor and will join our friendly and enthusiastic team that strives to provide high-quality, person-centred care. All newly qualified staff will be enrolled onto our OUH Preceptorship Programme in their first year of employment.
