Exciting Opportunity for a Band 6 OT in Croydon
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Croydon for a full-time Band 6 OT to work on our rehabilitation inpatient ward.
Role Overview
You will be working closely with a Band 5 OT and Activity Coordinator, and with an experienced, supportive MDT who highly value OT.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering a varied mental health rehabilitation activity programme
- Undertaking OT 1:1 and group interventions with service users on and off the ward
- Working as part of the MDT to support service users' active rehabilitation and discharge to the community
Opportunities
- Being part of the wider inpatient network of Activity Coordinators, OTs, peer workers, volunteers, and students

Application
We welcome applications from experienced Band 5s who are interested in taking the next step into a Band 6 role. You will be well supported with regular supervision from the Inpatient Clinical Specialist Band 7 OT.
Role Requirements
- Regular use of OT functional assessments
- Provision of group and 1:1 interventions
- Teamwork approach to rehabilitation
- Supervision skills and sound clinical reasoning
Skills and Qualities
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Understanding of re-motivation, challenging behaviors, and sensory integration approaches is helpful
About the Hospital
The Bethlem Royal hospital has a central occupational therapy department which offers a wealth of creative opportunities. There is an onsite clinical exercise service, community social hub, and large grounds. The site has good transport links to Croydon.
